“Life is not about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself.”
~George Bernard Shaw

Hi, I am Shavesha, but you can call me Chevvi
Welcome to my space- where I share my journey in real time as I navigate life, growth, and my path into the legal field.
MY ROOTS
I am in my twenties, originally from Portland, Jamaica, with my upbringing shaped in the diverse Greater Toronto Area. Growing up surrounded by different cultures and perspectives played a huge role in shaping how I see the world today.
I graduated from York University with a degree int sociology, where I developed a deeper understanding of human behaviour, systems, and the realities people face in everyday life.
MY JOURNEY
My path has not been linear- and that’s part of my story.
Being in foster care shaped me in ways I am still unpacking. It taught me resilience, independence, and how to navigate life even when things feel uncertain. Those experiences gave me a deeper sense of empathy and awareness, which continues to influence how I ,one through the world.
WHERE I’M HEADED
Today, I am a Paralegal graduate working toward becoming licensed and building a stable, meaningful career in the legal field.
This blog is where I document that process- the wins, the setbacks, and everything in between. From preparing for my licensing exam to figuring out my next steps, I am learning to trust the journey and grow through it.
WHY THIS BLOG EXISTS
This space is more than just a blog- it is a reflection of who I am becoming.
I am not here because I have everything figured out. I am here because I am figuring it out- and choosing to keep going.
